While we are accustomed to boiling tea leaves, this unique trend demonstrates how to roast them instead. Interestingly, OG chai lovers aren’t quite sold on this new twist.

An Instagram reel shared by user @food_madness__ shows a person dry roasting tea, sugar, and crushed cardamom in a pan. As the sugar is heated, it gradually melts and is combined with the other ingredients. Next, milk is carefully poured into the vessel. The steaming hot tea is then strained and promptly served.
